Artist Style: whimsical
I work in acrylics and oils on canvas and paper. When I work in acrylic I use a dry-brush technique with
a sanded texture, in oils I tend to prefer a smooth canvas surface. I describe my fine art imagery as being
predominantly contemporary landscape. As a children’s book illustrator, the imagery follows the narrative
of course, but I try to ‘inject’ landscape wherever I can. My work is characterized by soft tones and shapes
for the most part. The landscape is my focus, however within that subject matter I try to create painting
themes such as ‘Cloud-Scapes’, ‘Wind-Blown’, ‘Heart-Art’ and ‘Circular’ series.
