Raku is a glaze firing process which involves pieces being brought up to 1900 degrees in a small gas kiln. At that temperature the pieces are taken from the kiln and placed in separate cans filled with combustible materials. As these cans burst into flames they are lidded and the pieces remain in the reduction atmosphere. When cool they are removed. Raku results vary from shiny copper to green, blues or golds.
