Gabrielle is a native of Indianapolis. She attended IUPUI in Indianapolis where she was a Communications major. Gabby began performing poetry at local clubs in Indianapolis to help heal the pain of a tragic loss. Since then she has become a local rising star on the Indianapolis poetry circuit. Inspired by poets such as Indianapolis’s own Tasha Jones, and Atlanta’s Queen Sheba, she continues to push forward in becoming a poet making changes in her local community through the art of spoken word. Gabrielle believes that it only takes one step to make a change and she would love for you to take it with her. On her journey, she as accomplished several competitive wins; including becoming the 2007 Indiana Black Expo Poetry Slam Grand Champion. Her prize was the opportunity to open for Ms. Eryikah Badu in Conseco Field House. Gabrielle is a performance poet who draws you into her stories like no other. She is causing more than a splash in Indianapolis through her poetry and her thoughts.
