About My Work:

My love for the outdoors and the rural Indiana landscape is the basis for my devotion to plein air painting.  I hope to capture in my work the beauty of the common scenes here at home that in our hurried lives we so often go by failing to notice.

Pricing Information:

Pastel Studies…$50

Pastel Paintings Price Range…. $300;8×10, to $550 for 18×24; (gallery framing)

Oil Paintings Price Range…. $350;8×10 to $850 for 24×30 (gallery framing)

Education:

Laura has had no formal art training.  She is however, a constant student of the Indiana landscape, noticing and interpreting variations in light and atmosphere with the constant changes of it’s weather and seasons.  Laura artistic vision has been most strongly influenced by artist members of the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association.

Awards:

2009 Hoosier Salon Annual Exhibit  Laura’s pastel painting “Blue Field” and her oil painting “House on 750 South each received Purchase Awards.

2009 Hoosier Women Artists Award- Laura’s pastel painting “Sunset on Soybeans” was selected for this honor by Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman.  The painting currently hangs in her office.
