About My Work:

My fine artwork is a sum total of various experiences in both the visual arts and my life in general. Technique and style-wise, the development of my work is drawn from past experience in airbrushing, sign painting and illustration as well as inspiration from Surrealism, abstract and ethnic style art. Content-wise I often incorporate butterflies – derived from childhood sites of memories where I played in fields populated with butterflies of different colors like a distant fantasy; African symbols and/or paterns, and vibrant colors, from my native culture in the Virgin Islands where dashikis and carnival troops adorned in a range of African textiles and masks made up a great part of my childhood impression of Africa, a culture similar to my own; elements that express the rising up from and overcoming of struggles along the way.

  1. Hello Michael. I hope that you remember me. You did a logo for my business at the time which was College Keepsakes. You also did an original painting for me of Morehouse College in 1995. Would love to talk with you. Have not seen you since I was in In. IN. E-mail me back as to how I can get up with you.
