Reflection and exploration was at the heart of Susan’s renewal process. The fellowship gave her the opportunity to attend writing workshops focused on her journey from journal writing to memoir. She found her creativity flourished during small shorter wriitng classes and retreats. Susan also found that, “the value of the Fellowship lies not only in the individual achievements of the participants but also in the collective conscience of a community where creativity is nourished.” The
