Position: Vice President of Development

Status: Full-time paid

Reports to: President and CEO

Position Summary:

Reporting to and in partnership with the President, this position will be responsible for planning and implementing fund raising efforts, particularly as they relate to individual donors, corporate funders/sponsors, and special events. Position is one of four full-time administrative positions.

Organizational Background:

ArtMix (formerly VSA Indiana) is a statewide nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of people with disabilities through the creation of art. The organization was founded in 1980 as Arts Unlimiting and is a member of the VSA Affiliate Network, a program of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. ArtMix serves the community through five core programs and special projects and is well regarded. Although the organization has a 30+ year history, fund raising is a newer element of their work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of individual giving program.
  • Plan and implement efforts to cultivate corporate funders/sponsors.
  • Design and lead implementation of annual fund raising plan.
  • Manage donor software (eTapestry) and maintenance of donor records.
  • Oversee organization and implementation of fund raising special events.
  • Manage grant applications and reports calendar.
  • Provide staff support to Development Committee.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Relevant experience required. Experience with individual donors, special events, andcorporate relationships preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills. Must be proficient with Etapestry.
  • Ability to regularly cooperate with colleagues and work independently.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and professional integrity required.
