GATHERING: Contemporary Glass from the Heartland is a juried exhibition showcasing the best of emerging and established glass artists from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Wisconsin—the heartland of America. It is sponsored by the Indiana Glass Arts Alliance (IGAA), a non­profit organization located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

ENTRY FEE

A $40 non­refundable entry fee is required to submit up to three (3) works of art.

ELIGIBILITY

This juried exhibition is open to any artist who fulfills the following criteria:

• Minimum of 18 years old
• Connected to the REGION by birth, residency or schooling (from a degree granting institution), but does not need to be currently residing in the Region.
• Completed the submitted artwork in the past two (2) years (2015­2017).
• All artwork uses glass as its main medium.
• Submitted artwork has NOT been previously accepted or included in any previous GATHERING Exhibitions.

AWARDS

Artists compete for up to $2500 in total cash awards.

About Gallery 924:

The Arts Council of Indianapolis manages one of Indianapolis' best fine art galleries, Gallery 924. The gallery hosts monthly rotating exhibitions featuring central Indiana contemporary artists. Since its opening in October 2010, Gallery 924 has welcomed more than 15,000 patrons and hosted more than 400 individual artists in exhibition. OPENING RECEPTION

The Opening Reception coincides with the IDADA First Friday Event.
Free parking in the lot located south of the gallery.

RULES OF ENTRY

1. A $40 non­refundable entry fee entitles the artist to submit up to three (3) works of art.
2. Digital Images of Artwork: Up to two (2) images per artwork may be submitted.
   1. The second image may be a detailed or different view of the artwork.
   2. Digital images of artwork submitted must be a non­-altered representation of the actual artwork to be considered for exhibition.
   3. IGAA and Gallery 924 reserve the right to decline artwork if it does not closely resemble the original digital image(s) submitted to the jurors.
3. Artwork Limitations: No height, length or weight limitations. Gallery cannot accommodate artwork requiring video display.
4. Artwork Acceptance: Only artists with accepted artwork will be notified by email the week of August 13th, 2017.
5. No Artwork Substitution: After acceptance into the exhibition, no artwork substitutions will be allowed unless the artwork has been damaged during shipment to the gallery. Then, the artist may re­create the accepted artwork to the best of his/her abilities for inclusion in the exhibition.
6. No Artwork Removal: After acceptance into the exhibition, artwork may NOT be withdrawn or removed at any time from the exhibition. If the artwork is withdrawn or removed before Sept. 16th, 2017, the artist will be excluded from all future IGAA exhibitions and the artist will forfeit any awards.
7. Artwork Delivery & Pickup: Artwork must be delivered to the gallery between August 28th and 29th, 2017. Detailed information regarding shipping or hand­-delivering artwork to Gallery 924 and pick­up after the Exhibition has ended will be included in the Artwork Acceptance email notification.
8. Awards: Artists will be notified if they have won an award in the Artwork Acceptance email notification. The specific award will be presented at the Opening Reception
9. Sales:
   1. Price of artwork may not be changed after it has been delivered to the Gallery 924.
   2. Gallery 924 will process transactions and subtract a 25% commission
   3. All submitted artwork must be reasonably priced and available for sale.
   4. Purchased artwork must remain in the show until September 16, 2017.
   5. Payment to the artist on any artwork sale will occur 2­3 weeks after the exhibition closes.
10. Contract with Gallery 924: All artists with accepted artwork in GATHERING: Contemporary Glass from the Heartland 2017 will be required to sign Gallery 924's contract before gallery can receive the artwork.
11. Insurance: Gallery 924 insures all artwork for its wholesale value (less the 25% commission) while on display or in storage at the gallery facility.
