Indianapolis Art Center Seeks College Student Artists for Exhibition

The Indianapolis Art Center is announcing a call for artists open to currently enrolled Indiana college students for their College Invitational: Identity Exhibition. They are looking to select 6 artists by currently enrolled college students for a group showcase this winter (February 3, 2017 – April 1, 2017) in the Indianapolis Art Center’s Frank M. Basile Exhibition Hall. Artists will be expected to submit work under the overarching theme of Identity. From the selected entries, The Art Center’s Exhibitions Department will choose 6 students to exhibit, each receiving a $300 honorarium.

Eligibility:

• This opportunity is open to undergraduate or graduate students of all ages currently enrolled in any College or University in the State of Indiana.
• Students may be pursuing any of the following degrees in ANY area of fine art or craft : Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Master of Arts, Master of Fine Arts.
• All work must be original and made by the artist. No reproductions or copies. They will select 6 artists based on the submitted images, but works exhibited does not have to directly reflect the images sent in.
• Work submitted must be appropriate for the theme of Identity. The theme is open for interpretation by the individual artist.
• Each of the 6 students selected will be given a wall space of 22ft long x 9ft tall to exhibit work of their choosing.

To Apply, please submit the following via mail or email:

• An Artist Resume, not to exceed one page, which includes the degree you are seeking and the school you attend.
• Up to 10 images of individual works for consideration. (details may be included)
• An image description list – including title, medium, and dimensions of each piece.

Your proposal materials WILL NOT be returned to you.
