Youth Audience Manager Job Description

Youth Audience Manager is a full-time, year-round, exempt position with benefits, reporting and being responsible to the Director of Education. This position may require occasional evening and weekend commitments.

The Youth Audience Manager is responsible for:

  • coordinating with the Director of Education to market, manage, and fulfill student matinee ticket sales, including: managing multiple communication streams, maintaining an accurate school and teacher database, and handling payments for accounts receivable and payable.
  • executing student matinee performances, including: curbside and house check-in, seating student groups, delivering curtain speeches, facilitating post-show discussions, and coordinating tours and lunch groups.
  • teaching introductory and/or advanced theatre and performance content in IRT Classes and Summer Youth

Workshops, and leading in-school sessions on theatre etiquette and related topics.

  • building and maintaining teacher and administrator relationships in schools with the goal of increasing teacher purchases of the student matinee product.
  • helping to create marketing strategies and special events for Education Department, such as Educator Appreciation Night.
  • assisting the Director of Education with managing and leveraging a Teacher Advisory Board to improve curriculum-based offerings.
  • compiling youth audience statistics in conjunction with the Development and Marketing departments.
  • planning and implementing lobby exhibits.

Additional Duties: At all times the Youth Audience Manager shall act as an ambassador for the IRT. From time to time the Youth Audience Manager may be assigned additional duties as thought appropriate by the Director of Education, the Managing Director or the Artistic Director.
