Consider the IMA for your homeschool curriculum this fall and spring. Our first-ever Art and Nature Kindergarten-First Grade: Homeschool Program (K-1) is designed to offer students ages 5, 6, and 7 a chance to learn through play-based activities, meet other children, encourage curiosity, and claim the IMA as their own school environment!
Registered students will explore art and nature guided by an IMA teaching artist alongside their parent-educator. Each K-1 program session includes an 8 week program, meeting twice each week. On each day of the program, students will have place-based learning experiences indoors and outside. Activities in this K-1 program will draw from research on play and children’s learning as well as Forest School pedagogy. Plan to be outside each day…our attitude for this program is there’s no bad weather, just bad clothes.
The K-1 program values the presence of the parent-educator in the experiences, too. Additional children in the enrolled students’ family who are older or younger than the Kindergarten-First grade level are welcome to accompany their parent-educator.
Consider enrolling your 5, 6, or 7 year old(s) for both fall and spring sessions for opportunities all year long to build a sense of belonging in a museum school context while learning across the curriculum through the arts.
Space limited, please purchase your ticket early — online or at the IMA Welcome Desk.
