Come Go Home with Me told by Sheila Kay Adams

Sheila Kay Adams comes from a place in Madison County, North Carolina, renowned for its unbroken tradition of unaccompanied ballad singing. Like her book of the same name, Come Go Home with Me provides a rare portrait of the distinctive mountain community. In addition to being a delightful raconteur of mountain life, Sheila is an accomplished clawhammer style banjo player. Her artistry conveys a powerful sense of family and place.

Sheila Kay Adams has been performing Appalachian ballads and telling stories for decades. A former public school teacher, she now pursues a career sharing the music, stories and heritage of her mountain culture. In 2016, she received the North Carolina Heritage award and in 2013, she received the prestigious NEA National Heritage Fellowship.
