SONlight Youth Choir of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church

The SONlight Youth Choir of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church (a 1500-member congregation in Murfreesboro, TN) is comprised of 7th-12th grade students who rehearse weekly and sing in worship twice a month. SONlight sings a varied repertoire, including gospel, world music, contemporary worship music, and traditional hymns and anthems. Each year, SONlight shares their music on a choir tour. Previous tours have taken them to Charleston, SC; St. Louis, MO; Dallas, TX; Washington, DC; Philadelphia, PA; Cincinnati, OH; and more. On these tours, the students not only share their music in venues ranging from churches to shelters and community centers, but they also engage with community residents in service and mission. The 2017 SONlight tour will take the choir to Indianapolis and Chicago.
