States of Incarceration: An Exhibit

View an exhibit that brings together a national community of over 500 people in 20 cities to illustrate the past, present and future of mass incarceration. Teams of students designed the exhibition pieces that explore a history of incarceration in their own communities. These include Angola’s slave plantation-turned-prison in Louisiana, the legacies of the Dakota Wars for Native American incarceration in Minnesota, and immigration detention at Ellis Island and Elizabeth, New Jersey.
