Clint Breeze and the Groove
Jazz and soul
Born and raised in Indianapolis, hip-hop producer Carrington Clinton was heavily influenced by his musically talented family. Clinton experimented with multiple musical projects that range from playing drums in church and garage bands, to being a part of more serious bands at Ball State University where he studied Video Production & Film. In 2013, Clinton created Clint Breeze, a band composed of seven local musicians including Carrington Clinton (drums), Nick Tucker (base), Joel Tucker (guitar), Reggie Bishop (keyboards), Jay Higginson (trumpet), Jared Thompson (saxophone), and Theon Lee (vocals). This project allows Clinton to experiment with his jazz and soul influences while mixing his heavy drum compositions to create a balance of raw and catchy rhythm and melody. Since the band’s inception, Clinton has released five projects and has collaborated with an array of profound and talented people within the Indianapolis community. As a Featured Artist for Art & Soul 2017, Clinton and his band will focus their performance and song selections on this year’s theme, Lift Your Voice, adding their own brand of high-energy and crowd participation for maximum impact.
