Indiana Artists Centennial Celebration Begins with Spring Juried Exhibition

Indiana Artists Spring Juried Exhibition: A Centennial Celebration Opens April 9

 INDIANAPOLIS, January 20, 2017 –Indiana Artists will celebrate the juried work of their members in the upcoming exhibition, Indiana Artists Spring Juried Exhibition: A Centennial Celebration.

Indiana Artists will hold their annual juried exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA), DeBoest Lecture Hall. The Opening Reception and Annual Meeting of Indiana Artists will take place on April 9^th at 3:00 PM. Exhibition dates start on April 7^th and continue until June 4^th.

Since the organization’s inception, there have been 83 juried exhibitions. Starting in 1994, these have been held at the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA). Each year, our artist members are invited to enter the annual Spring Juried Exhibition. Submitted works are reviewed by an outside juror to be included in the exhibition. Works accepted are then juried to receive awards. The exhibition will consist of a variety of mediums from artists throughout the state of Indiana.

About Indiana Artists

Indiana Artists (originally Indiana Artists Club) was founded in 1917 by 46 prominent artists. The organization consists of over 150 professional artists from Indiana, engaged in all disciplines of art. The original group included such notables as T.C. Steele, William Forsyth, Otto Stark, Carl Graf, Wayman Adams, Simon Baus, and Marie Goth, among others.

The organization sponsors two statewide exhibitions and a variety of lectures, demonstrations, and workshops each year. We have a committed volunteer Board of Directors that are elected annually by the members. Members must meet specific requirements to be accepted into the organization.
