Word As Bond, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing youth ages 13-19 with free creative writing education and a platform to share their writing, spoken word, and other artistic endeavors with audiences in the city of Indianapolis, throughout the state of Indiana, and across the country.

Since 2013, Word’s students have travelled to represent the Indianapolis metro area and compete in a slam competition at Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Festival (BNV). We are excited to announce that, this July, our students will travel across the nation to BNV in San Francisco!

All of Word’s programs, including travel to and participation in BNV, are provided to our students completely free of charge.

Proceeds from all ticket sales for the Bite ‘n Spit Poetry Slam will help make sure that Word’s programs remain accessible to students from all walks of life, regardless of their ability to pay.

Food and beverages for our first ever Bite ‘N Spit Poetry Slam will be provided by Chef “Q.”
