Audubon Public Tour

Presented by Newfields at Indianapolis Museum of Art

This exhibition features the stunning works of John James Audubon, a key figure in ornithology, American art and conservation. Audubon: Drawn to Nature showcases the masterful drawings of birds Audubon observed and hunted while living in the American wilderness of the 1800s. The painstakingly detailed artworks, accompanied by descriptions of the bird’s habitat and characteristics, will appeal to lovers of birds, conservation and art. A docent-led tour will examine ways Audubon combined artistic renderings and scientific observations to create his renowned volume, The Birds of America.
