The Englewood Project Celebration

The Englewood Project Celebration

Presented by Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art (iMOCA) at Englewood Recreation Gym

The Englewood Project will celebrated the completion of a global artwork, “Love Letter to the World,” by Kurt Gohde and Kremena Todonova, from Lexington, KY. It’s based on an award winning poem written by Frank X. Walker as an apology and a renewed commitment to our troubled world.  130 Indianapolis participants have chosen to have a line of text tattooed on their bodies while another 130 created cross stitches from patterns based on a unique Indianapolis design.

The Englewood Project is the culmination of a global artwork project including participants from five continents speaking 12 different languages.  Our design features a unique graphic element highlighting the Englewood Village Community and Indianapolis.

The December 1st celebration will premiere a video-based work featuring photographs of all participants and to celebrate the wrap-up several creative placemaking projects happening in the Englewood Village Great Places 2020 neighborhood through a partnership with The Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art (iMOCA).
