Presented by Marian University at Marian University Art Gallery

The Department Visual and Creative Arts presents, Transformations: Visual Explorations in Painting, Graphic Design, and Photography featuring artwork created by Kristen Besinger, Patrick Gordon, and Dhane Thomas. Each senior exhibitor explores the theme of transformation using different media including painting, photography, and graphic design. Kristen Besinger, an art therapy major from Greenfield, Indiana uses non-traditional media such as lipstick, nylon, acrylic paint, water, and oil in her artwork to explores themes of transformation and self-identity. Patrick Gordon, a timelapse photographer from Indianapolis, uses photography to create timelapses that highlight the overlooked transformations of the world. Gordons’ videos capture the nuances of change over time in subjects ranging from Indiana’s rivers to star systems in the sky. Dhane Thomas, an Indianapolis graphic designer employs graphic design as a vehicle for communicating visual identities and brands. Thomas’ goal is to create a visual logo that transforms a client’s mission into an authentic visual brand.
