Sending Your Work into The World: Tips for Submitting and Publishing in Literary Journals

Sending Your Work into The World: Tips for Submitting and Publishing in Literary Journals

Presented by Indiana Writers Center at Indiana Writers Center

Instructor: Natalie Solmer

You’ve been polishing your short story or a group of poems for months (or years); now what? You finally feel ready to share your work with the world, but beginning the process of submitting to literary journals can feel like trying to climb Everest. This class will give you a plan and some tools to climb the mountain that is the daunting task of submitting to journals. We will talk about how to make the many decisions involved: deciding when a piece is ready to submit, deciding where to submit it, and deciding how to submit it. We will also talk about how to deal with rejection letters, acceptance letters, and everything in between! My main goal in teaching this class is to motivate and empower you to begin a submissions process that just becomes part of your monthly writer routine.
