2018 Circle City Bhangra Competition

2018 Circle City Bhangra Competition

Presented by Circle City Bhangra Committee at Franklin Central High School

Circle City Bhangra will be hosting its 2nd annual Bhangra competition held in Indianapolis, IN. This year’s competition will take place at the Franklin Central High School Auditorium.

Family and friends are invited to experience the great talent brought forth by our competing teams who will have traveled from all parts of North America. Join us as these teams battle to win 1st place in our very own Circle City.

Bhangra is a blend between music and dance which originates from the Punjab region of Northern India. In its earliest form, it was a celebratory folk dance which welcomed the coming of spring, or Vaisakhi, as it is known. Bhangra has evolved since its beginnings and has become modernized with the help of western culture. Taking influence from hip hop, house, and reggae styles of music, it has begun to attract performers from all over the world. We are excited to present to you this new era of performing art showcasing a cultural blend of exciting dance and music.
