Black & White and More,” a quilt exhibit showcasing the work by members of the Charm Club, will be on exhibit from July 15 through Sept. 2, 2016 in the SullivanMunce Cultural Center, 225 W. Hawthorne Street, Zionsville, Indiana.

For the club’s biennial exhibit, members have used black and white fabrics and added a third accent color in their works which represent an array of style and technique. Also on view will be their quilts inspired by artifacts from the Mathers Museum of World Cultures in Bloomington where the textiles were exhibited earlier this year.

In addition there will be a special display by the Show Girls, a group of international quilt artists from the Carolinas and Indiana, who exchange fabrics monthly. The resulting quilts – all different – are made essentially from the same fabrics.

An opening reception, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 15.

Now in its 29^th year, the Charm Club met initially in the then Sullivan Museum and in ensuing years in members’ homes to share fabric and exchange ideas. Members include nationally recognized quilt artists and professionals with Indiana roots.

The current roster includes Janet Brandt, Jane Lee, Judy Pleiss and Barbara Thompson of Indianapolis; Anita Hardwick of Crawfordsville, Betsy Harris of Zionsville, Kate Lenkowsky of Bloomington, Mary S. Moore of West Lafayette, Carol Elrod of Bokeelia, FL; Eve Howes of Concord, NC, and Judy Sweeney of Danville, KY.

Members of Show Girls include Mireille Hanuska of Greenville, SC; Eve Howes of Concord, NC; Cathy Jooste of Arden, NC; Tomoe Minami of Winston-Salem, NC; Irene Waalboer of Hanahan, SC; Betsy Harris of Zionsville and Barbara Thompson of Indianapolis.

Exhibit hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays. Admission is free.
