How They Linger: Stories of People Who Cannot Be Forgotten

We eagerly welcome back audience-favorite Donald Davis. He’s one of only two storytellers to be featured every year at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee. He first performed in Indianapolis in 1991 during the Hoosier Storytelling Festival. This is Donald’s 14th time to tell to Hoosier audiences, most recently, “Visiting with Donald Davis” in December 2018. He also appeared on the Fox 59 morning show during that visit.

About Donald Davis
Donald Davis grew up in the mountains of southern Appalachia, in a world rich with stories. As a young man, he gravitated toward stories about his own family and places of origin. As he retold stories, he gradually began adding new ones. His humor has captured the imagination of thousands of audience members. Smithsonian Magazine says Davis is “a master of timing” and has audiences “hanging on his every word.” The New York Times says “His stories often left listeners limp with laughter at the same time they struggled with a lump in the throat.” He has published 18 books and recorded more than 40 original stories. Davis is a recipient of the Circle of Excellence and Lifetime Achievement Awards from the National Storytelling Network and appeared on NPR, CNN, and ABC’s “Nightline.”
