I own and operate a private practice in Painting Conservation. We adhere to the American Institute of Conservation’s Code of Ethics that requires documentation, photography, and reversibility of materials, executed in a professional manner. Conservation treatments can return your painting to near its original appearance. It is possible to repair punctures, tears, flaking paint, and discolored varnish layers. Paintings on canvas can be patched or lined to repair tears. Ground layers can be consolidated. Flaking, cupping, and cleaving paint can be reattached. Grime and discolored varnish can be removed. Panel paintings can be cleaned and the cracks repaired.

Ryan Blake

The work of Ryan Blake shows an influence of nature and natural processes. Blake’s work also displays a simplicity of form. He holds in high regard, those cultures which are centered on a balance as well spiritually display a connection to nature. Blake’s exploration of other mediums led him back into ceramics with an even deeper sense of meaning. His beliefs around art as communication is not limited to clay; even though there is a sense of loyalty shown to it. To Blake, clay has a healing power; clay is therapy. Clay is a means to connect with people; to bring meaning and make sense of this world.

Justin Brown is a multidiscipline contemporary artist and curator. He is a native Hoosier and Cathedral graduate. Justin was an original founder and curator of Future Friends Holographic Magic Club in Fountain Square, IN. He is the founder and executive director of Hoy Polloy Art Gallery at 3125 E. 10th St, Indianapolis, IN. Justin was also the curator and director of Re:Public; a partnership between Indianapolis Contemporary and Hoy Polloy, which closed in April 2020 with the closing of Indianapolis. His visual work focuses primarily on federal and private surveillance data analytics, public and private scientific institutional research, federal and municipal law enforcement investigations, congressional investigation committees, historical documentarian texts, forced perspective, cognitive dissonance, and color theory.

Disabled Indiana author and artist Alys Caviness-Gober began exhibiting and selling artwork in 2012; prior to that, she taught Anthropology at Ball State University. Alys left a PhD program (Applied Linguistics) due to health issues. She is a Juried Artist Member in the Hamilton County Artists’ Association (painting and photography categories), where she served on the Board for many years in various officer positions. Alys founded Logan Street Sanctuary, Inc. (LSS), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit music, arts, and education venue located in the heart of Noblesville, Indiana, and serves as the LSS Board Secretary. Alys’ paintings, photographs, and poetry have received national and international recognition.

I was born in Madrid, Spain in 1986. On a day between then and now I picked up a crayon and haven’t stopped scribbling since. I attained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and I am currently seeking commission jobs. For as long as I can remember I have been drawing and painting-making images. I can’t say “making art.” It’s too difficult to determine when someone actually starts making art. Either way, I have been at it for what seems like my entire life. So much that it has become less something that I am doing and more something that I am.

Nasreen copyedits for a living, and writes poetry and paints to stay sane. She grew up in West Africa and Indonesia and moved to the wide and gritty American Midwest by way of New York City. She and her toddler son live in their bungalow on Indianapolis’ Near Westside. On a Friday night she can be found cooking various organ meats or chasing down a stellar mint julep.

Ann W. King opened A King’s Art Studio and Gallery at 60 E. Cedar St. Zionsville, IN 46077 in January 2001. Ann is a juried show award winning artist in both painting and jewelry. She represents 3 other juried show award winning artists in the gallery presenting a wide range of styles and media. Ann also does restoration of small china, wood, painting and jewelry objects.

I began my artistic journey in 2009 by attending the Columbus College of Art & Design, where I earned my BFA in Fine Art focusing in ceramics and small scale metals. Following graduation it wasn’t financially feasible for me to continue creating jewelry, so I dove hands first into clay and have been playing with mud ever since. In the years following graduation I taught art, restored art, and served in the non-profit arts sector as a grant maker, but always had a desire to create full-time. In 2021 I decided to take a chance on myself, forming Glazed & Confused Creations to pursue my craft as a full-time career. Having been born and raised in Florida, my work is heavily influenced by the colors of the island and Caribbean, while my designs are inspired from both the Art Deco and Art Nouveau eras.

I am inspired by the memories I associate with my identity, the effects of emotional labor, and the associated stereotypes. I use unique forms of storytelling to share concepts rooted in my own life. Each piece is a reflection of these experiences, and that of others. We can all relate to wearing masks to achieve the accepted standard within our own combination of subgroups. Growing up semi-isolated did not make me exempt from being implanted with habitual patterns, but it did allow time for me to develop an uncommon perspective.

Becky Wilson Becky exhibited in her very first group show at the Indianapolis Art Center in the early 1980s, during her years at Herron School of Art. Her skills were noted in Indianapolis Monthly magazine when she was recognized as one of the “85 People to Watch in 1985”. Becky was a founding member of the 431 Gallery that has been noted among the reasons Massachusetts Avenue became a recognized as an arts district in Indianapolis. Becky was also a founding member of the Stutz Artists Association and Stutz Artist Residency. Her career spans several decades of accolades, including numerous group and solo exhibits, best of shows, awards, and juried recognitions.
