  • Ryan Blake
    Ryan Blake
    Visual Arts: Ceramics, Conservation/Restoration, Earthworks
The work of Ryan Blake shows an influence of nature and natural processes. Blake’s work also displays a simplicity of form. He holds in high regard, those cultures which are centered on a balance as well spiritually display a connection to nature. Blake’s exploration of other mediums led him back into ceramics with an even deeper sense of meaning. His beliefs around art as communication is not limited to clay; even though there is a sense of loyalty shown to it. To Blake, clay has a healing power; clay is therapy. Clay is a means to connect with people; to bring meaning and make sense of this world.

These works offered a unique forum for engaging the most diverse audiences. The primary focus of all of these works was to establish a dialogue between the audience and the site.” Greg Hull
  • Chaklan Lacy
    Chaklan Lacy
Artist of Color; Black/African American; Ethnic Art; Graphic Arts; Literary Arts; Multi Arts; Visual Arts: Constructions/Collage, Crafts, Earthworks, Functional and/or Decorative, Graphic Arts, Illustration, Media and Visual Communications, Mixed Media, Murals, New Media/Technology, Painting, Performers and Writers, Photography
My creative art style is very unique, I integrate visuals from past artist experts in impressionism, representational, faces, landscapes, nature/outdoors visuals with added twists of vibrant colors. Painting from the heart is always involved in the visuals I create. The majority of what I put on canvas has mixed media, texture, full of life and color, allowing an exciting viewing experience for all audiences. I have a strong work ethic and still value organization, uniform, consistency, and being prompt as well as prepared. Following the values of running a corporation allows me to thrive effectivity in my arts continuously creating beautiful visuals of free will, a smile to go along with painting is what I do best.
  • Andrew Leonberger
    Andrew Leonberger
Visual Arts: Constructions/Collage, Earthworks, Jewelry, Painting
“As an Indiana artist I try to incorporate all trades into my repertoire. With a Bachelor of fine arts degree from Herron School of Art and Design, I did not focus on a particular subject, rather tested and pushed my creativity and desire to learn new materials. I wanted to graduate with a broad understanding of different concepts and material list. This wide variety of knowledge has allowed me to open a lot of doors in art using mostly mixed materials together to make a surrealistic setting and natural but unsettling feeling.”

  • Desiree Moore
    Desiree Moore
Visual Arts: Earthworks, Photography, Sculpture, Textiles
“Our greatest masquerade is that we believe we do not depend on the soil, water and air; that somehow we exist out of Wal-Mart’s. It is a great naiveté that technology, or perhaps even civilization, has convinced us that we are separate from nature. The need to understand American culture and politics and explain the histories behind the myths about nature and social norms that are integral to environmental concerns motivate my art making. The nature I have grown up in is contrived, polluted, mutated, and is usually experienced through and by boundaries. I want to explore nature in a myriad of ways that may not be natural at all. By creating an inverted forest and tending to a field of dandelions the fantasies of these installations may not be far fetched. I continue to explore the imposition of my hand, as a creator and an American consumer, and how I can influence the world around me. With the multiplicity of hands, minds, and ideas the consequence of our actions is hard to predict. These routes and paths are created or chosen, whether deliberately abrupt or at the disposal of the winds, eventually intersections will occur and it is ultimately these moments of collision that I am fascinated with.” Desiree Moore

The Tree Lady is who I am. I am a woman who loves life, family, traveling, sunsets, sunrises, hiking, walking in the rain, the beach, many other things & . . . TREES !!! TREES !!! TREES !!! In 2011 I began painting, drawing, sketching trees on tshirts and then moved on to creating TreeLady blank greeting cards. There’s nothing like receiving a card someone took the time to find, purchase, write a line or two and mail. It tends to bring a huge smile I climbed trees often as a child and found peace there. Trees are like arms reaching for the sky; or branches, embracing us, protecting us. Trees don’t judge us. Trees give us peace. I love sitting under a tree or sitting on a branch up in a tree, just being ! I still climb trees when the opportunity presents itself. Hug a tree, it’s pretty cool. A tree will never betray your trust and always keep your secrets. If you listen closely a tree will speak to you. My Moms dementia brought me back here to Indy, where I was raised. During 2020, trees gave me a new journey, filled with gratitude and grace. Nothing was moving, however everything was blooming, growing and beautiful, even though death was all around, up close, personal and downright terrifying. I found grace, I found gratitude, I found beauty in that leaf I saw transform, change color and start again. I construct, draw and paint trees. I pour tons of love into my canvasses and you feel the love, spirit and roots of life. My goal : your eyes see the beauty, your heart fills with love and your spirit is full of gratitude for the beauty of the moment.
