I am a 51-year-old artist that has been working and selling in Indianapolis for the greater part of my life. I am primarily a painter/sculptor that seeks materials and records the development and use of the materials. I consider myself to be a traditional artist that makes use of materials of the time.

My name is Andrea Ettinger. I am a German citizen and  have lived in the U.S. thirty years; twenty of them in Indianapolis. My home town is Cologne ,which is the sister city to Indianapolis. Art,in many forms has been a passion of mine thru out my life. To explore the possibilities ,I have taken classes and attended workshops in a variety of mediums. Watercolor,Acrylic,Oil, Stain Glass,Photography,Drawing,Leather working, Print making and more. During my early years (ten years in New Jersey) I painted interior wall murals and made collaborative art with children in school. My two children and I came to Indianapolis in 1997. Professionally I worked in fine jewelry for fifteen years. For the past 13 years I have lived on the near west side. During this time it has been my goal to help beautify this, and it’s surrounding  neighborhoods. NoWoe Studio is a collaborative I formed that includes a diverse group of Artists that meets once per week. We have murals and other works in the Michigan street Art Alley, the Hawthorne community center, Stringtown, and Indy Convergence. Excluding Murals, most of my current works includes recycled materials. To list a few: Slate Paintings, Steampunk Art, Large mosaics and Jewelry.

    Visual Arts: Painting, Sculpture
From the youngest age I can remember I have been creating artwork, coloring, doodling, sketching… whatever I could get my hands on. I am an artist living in Indiana. I attended John Herron School of Art, Vincennes University and Marion College. I spent several years in Santa Fe New Mexico where I met lifelong friends and was taught the art of stone sculpting. I am focusing on painting right now but I look to get back to stone sculpting in the near future. I love creating whether it be on a canvas or creating something from stone/wood. I enjoy designing things that make people think and or feel good. Life is all about feelings and art is all about life. I feel very thankful to have been given a talent to create beautiful, fun or thought provoking pieces. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it! I am also available for commission work.
  • Billy Brandon Rios Aguilar
    Billy Brandon Rios Aguilar
Artist of Color; Hispanic/Latino/a/x; Visual Arts: Printmaking
My work is rooted in traditional art forms. I have always been fascinated with the visual language of printmaking and the idea of creating something that can last forever. My work is not abstract, but it is also not representational. I am most interested in exploring how traditional methods can be used to create pieces that are beautiful, functional, and timeless. In my work I tried to make the images as large as possible, but also I like to leave most of my paper clear from anything – just having the piece in the center for the viewer to get up close and be intimate. Even though the piece is large scale, I aim for viewers to be up close with the art so they can be able to see the little details and textures of the print. That applies to my illustrations. Although they are smaller forms, they still obligate the viewer to get up close in order to understand and appreciate the details.
