Visual Arts: Constructions/Collage, Mixed Media, Painting, Sculpture
I am primarily a sculpture artist working with steel & mixed media. I enjoy creating organic, contemporary forms and figurative forms. Women are strong, elegant, AND beautiful.  I love that I can convey that in the medium I have chosen. In addition to sculpture I also do something I call a botanical collage. I add physical plants to my acrylic paintings & seal them. They have various particles in them that capture the light. I try to make my paintings come to life with this process. As a light source travels across my work it is illuminated in different areas, perhaps mimicking the sun. Artists have imitated nature & plant life for centuries, I actually preserve & enhance it.

She works primarily with hand-cut paper art, watercolor, colored pencils, and digital touch-ups. Before becoming an illustrator, Shelley worked as a professional pianist and music teacher. She received a doctorate degree in music and a master’s degree in arts administration from Indiana University (Bloomington). In parallel with her musical journey, paper art has been her creative outlet for many years. In 2020, Shelley decided to pursue her passion in illustration and launched her art studio Junonia Arts. As a paper collage artist, Shelley loves exploring different possibilities of colors, shapes, layers, and textures in pieces of paper. Besides using paper collage techniques, she also incorporates watercolor, colored pencils, and digital mediums into the final illustrations. Therefore, you will find lots of fun characters and quirky stories in her illustrations. Previously, Shelley worked with clients to create children’s book illustrations, editorial designs, promotional illustrations, greeting cards, puzzles, seed packets, and more! In addition, Shelley teaches paper cut art courses and workshops across the US, including Brooklyn Art Library, Indianapolis Zoo, Lotus World Music & Arts Festival, Garfield Park Arts Center, etc, sharing the beauty and quirkiness in hand-cut paper art. • Gretchen 'Copper' Banning
    Gretchen 'Copper' Banning
Performing Arts: Music; Visual Arts: Constructions/Collage, Functional and/or Decorative, Mixed Media, Photography, Sculpture, Textiles
My artist name is Copper. I chose this name only because I was using it as an 'alias' when I was hosting goth parties in the 90s. That is when I started drawing and painting. I signed those works Copper and so I have kept it even though it confuses people. I am also a DJ and go by the name Copper Top, which is another story for another day. I am not a trained artist. My degree was in political science and history. I never even considered art until one day I decided in the 1990s I decided to draw a picture and showed it to my boyfriend. He said to 'give it up'. I hate those words so I kept going anyway. I continued drawing and eventually I moved into collage and painting. By the late 90s I was producing works which incorporated many styles and mediums. I had several small shows in the city in the early 2000's including The Bungalow in Broad Ripple and many coffee shops in the city. In 2002 I decided to leave behind my art to pursuing DJing as my main creative outlet. I decided that someday, when I didn't want to DJ as much, I would come back to my art.  I DJ'd all over the country and the world between 2002 and 2012. I released 6 licensed CDs which were distributed globally. All of this was done on small Indie labels here and in Germany. When I spin now from time to time I play a mix of industrial, psy trance, dark house, and techno. In January 2012 I began to become serious about art again. I brought to it a new confidence in making my own rules. I was also deeply affected by 'The Occupy Movement'.  I was an activist in my college days and worked on many humanitarian causes. I studied political economics and have always leaned to the left, although my current convictions have evolved since those days. I began to marry my concern for global political and environmental crises to my expression through art. I recently published a piece of prose in the Canadian art publication 'Adbusters' and strongly support everything that periodical hopes to accomplish for a better global future. I also very much enjoy creating 'decorative art'. I do this to distract from my gloomy side. I love vintage kitsch and moreover mxing it with other surreal 'childish' decorative objects. I love making diorama. I love spanish and latino style art and am strongly influenced by it. I also enjoy completely remaking large objects like furniture. I have dabbled in  painting, drawing, photography, collage, assemblage, sculpture. I hate making anything more than once. I constantly am looking for some new idea to bring to my art.

  • Marie Broyer
    Marie Broyer
Graphic Arts; Media; Visual Arts: Graphic Arts, Illustration, Jewelry, Media and Visual Communications, Mixed Media, New Media/Technology, Painting
Broyer’s art career began in a formalized elementary education art program in Evansville, IN. In addition, throughout her early learning and primary education, Marie was offered participation in specialty art programs within the public-school systems and the local community. Nearing the end of high school, she chose to finish her curriculum at the inaugural charter “Signature School.” Furthermore, with the availability of this new artistic program, she focused her studies on contemporary art and editorial content. Most of all, Broyer won numerous awards for editorial illustration and content. In addition, was granted the opportunity as a high school student to participate in the juried Oakland City College (now Oakland City University) Art Exhibit. Thus, she participated in her first exhibit and at the age of seventeen and awarded a college level honorable mention. During this time, The University of Southern Indiana (USI) School of Liberal Arts Board of Directors selected (Stonestreet) Broyer as a recipient for a full liberal arts scholarship. While at USI, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts majoring in Advertising and Public Relations and focused on fine arts and marketing. Then, she studied under the artist in residence, Ms. Judy Chicago, in New Harmony, IN and traveled the country. Primarily, she studied the artists of the modern and impressionistic movement. Most of all, Broyer found herself inspired by the Impressionist and Fauvist movements. “In essence the movement is a realist perspective through the eyes of the artist, not a photograph.” Furthermore, she seized those concepts and built her own style through creating layers of texture, line and color. Now, she applies her formal training through working in commercial art, digital marketing communications and as an educator teaching adult and youth art classes in her country-side studio. In addition, she continues to learn and expand her knowledge base to further enhance the artist community. In conclusion, Marie currently resides in Central Indiana working in the fine art and the marketing communications industry. For over two decades, she continues to grow as a professional fine artist and individual. Broyer’s representation spans regional museums, private shows, public exhibitions and juried fairs. Contributing the donation of time and art to public service initiatives, she adds her flair of unique business initiatives and an artistic perspective to the local community.

    Lorenzo Bryant
    Artist of Color; Black/African American
My name is Lorenzo Bryant, and I am a self-taught artist. After serving nine years in prison, I came to the conclusion that I didn’t serve the time, time served me. I was able to channel my creative ability and find my passion in being an Artist/Painter. The creative process from sketching the image to painting those fine details is true meditation for me. I hope you too can find joy within my work.

    Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Sculpture
With a background in bronze casting and paleontology, I am inspired by the application of a process and the passage of time as a means to transform. In my practice I examine the human experience within the realm of deep time, exploring the grander temporal potential of daily rituals through fossilization. I create fictional artifacts that exist at the intersections of craft, ecology, science fiction, queerness, time scale and human sustainability when facing imminent change.

Multi Arts; Performing Arts: Dance; Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Performance Art, Works on paper; Manga-superhero inspured artwork.
I believe I am inspired to be creative in mixed media artwork as well as dance in an ‘outsider-style’ format.  The creative impulse I receive and the images of what to draw/perform as well as how to do the art come to me organically but most often when I am listening  to music and around safe and artistically like-minded people.  The majority of what I am influenced to draw is manga-based but I am also activated by the environment around me and the images I see in it.  What I do can be considered a sort of performance art because it is most often located randomly and the artistic flow I receive is spontaneous.

    Visual Arts: Photography
My journey alongside photography has taken me to far corners of the country and continues to push me around the world. I experience the peaks and valleys I have seen within myself and constantly struggle to express them in a way that brings me joy. Landscape and nature photography to me are about showing the beauty of the world and how lucky we are to exist during this moment in time. Capturing unique and beautiful places, and creating beautiful art within them is why I carry a camera and live through my lens. Abstract art to me is expression of feeling in its purest form. Every one of pieces tells a story, and has meaning to it. To see my photography, please follow the facebook link to my page!
  • Anne Cleary
    Anne Cleary
Literary Arts; Performing Arts: Vocal; Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Painting, Textiles, Works on paper
Anne Cleary is a native Hoosier living in the Indianapolis area. She grew up out in the Zionsville countryside. Her childhood spent roaming the fields, creek and woods inform her work to this day. Much of her abstract work is based upon nature, landscapes and the sky, often referring to the mysterious connection human beings have with the natural world. She studied art, English, and vocal music in her undergraduate years, going on to pursue graduate work in vocal performance (Opera). Music is an integral part of her life, and a certain musicality can be seen in some of her painter’s language-  brushstrokes may sometimes conotate musical notation, layers of markings and glazes- perhaps a visual chord. She is currently working heavily in textiles- specifically painted and dyed silks and natural fibers for collage, wall hangings and fashion. She works out of her home studio in the top of a barn on the North side of Indianapolis, and is visited often by appointment.  Website. www.anneclearydesigns.com,                              Instagram : @anne_cleary BA 1997  Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio. After being told for years that pursuing art wasn’t a viable source of income or success, I was finally able to abandon the discouraging notion that what I truly loved doing was insignificant. Perhaps I’m a bit late to the game of exhibiting my work…or maybe I needed to wait until now. Either way, it’s my time to take a risk and really start focusing on that which fills me with joy.

Hello! I’m Julie, a multidisciplinary artist. I explore art’s healing potential and choose to express states of being that inspire self-reflection, healing, gratitude, and connection. I am inspired by nature and the human condition. Art for me is a reminder of my humanity, my connection to all that is, and my power to choose how I want to feel and respond and what to create from it. Through my work, I hope the viewer feels their great connection too.
