IF YOU WERE TO ASK ME AT A YOUNG AGE WHAT I WANTED TO BE WHEN I GROW UP, MY RESPONSE WOULD HAVE BEEN A FASHION DESIGNER.  IF YOU WERE TO ASK ME AT THE AGE OF 22, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A FILM EDITOR.  IT WASN’T UNTIL THE AGE OF 27 THAT I DECIDED TO MERGE MY CHILDHOOD DREAMS WITH THOSE OF MY EARLY ADULTHOOD INTO WHAT IS NOW KNOWN AS STEREOSCOPE.  INSPIRED BY MY FONDEST AFTER SCHOOL MEMORIES OF PLAYING WITH MY AUNT AND GRANDMA’S STEREOSCOPE, TO PROCESSING FILM IN MY HIGHSCHOOL DARKROOM AND SORTING THROUGH MY INSANE COLLECTION OF FASHION MAGAZINES, I CAME UP WITH AN IDEA.  I WANTED TO TELL A STORY.  HOW COULD I DO THIS?  WITH AN EDUCATION IN FILM AND THE DIGITAL ERA OF PHOTOGRAPHY ON THE RISE, I PURCHASED A CAMERA AND BEGAN SHOOTING.  I ADORE SHOOTING ANY AND EVERYTHING AND BEING ABLE TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE’S STORIES THROUGH MY LENS.  IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SETTING UP A SHOOT OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL PLEASE REFER TO MY CONTACT PAGE OR EMAIL ME AT THE LINK BELOW.  THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SEE WHAT STEREOSCOPE IS ALL ABOUT. Celtica: once the term for all the Celtic lands. Celtica is a progressive Celtic band consisting of musical founder Tammera Lane and guitarist Tim Dooley who create a mood and sound that is uniquely their own. Tammera uses a mix of different instruments including vocals, keyboard, hammered dulcimer, field organ, hurdy gurdy, bowed psaltery and harp, backed by the guitar, Irish bouzouki, bodhran, and mandolin work of Tim Dooley. For larger presentations we also have guitarist Jeff Foster, fiddler Carolyn Dutton, bagpiper/penny whistle player Clancy Clements and hurdy gurdy player Tom Lozano. Celtica is dedicated to giving their audiences an exciting and meaningful musical experience. Beyond creating a unique musical exploration,  Tammera Lane gives fascinating insights into the instruments, and background into the development of this style of music and their band.

    Books, the SoulScholar
Media; Multi Arts; Performing Arts: Actor/Actress, Dance, Music, Theatre, Vocal; Visual Arts: Media and Visual Communications, Performers and Writers
Originally from Nashville, TN, Books draws her inspiration from a blend of gospel, soul, funk, and blues. Ever eclectic, she enjoys, and draws inspiration from, a variety of music artists and genres, including Donny Hathaway, Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Billy Joel, Yussef Lateef, J. Dilla, John Legend, Maurice White, Ella Fitzgerald, Ledisi, Hiatus Kaiyote, Jill Scott, and many more. Books has shared her music with audiences in the US and abroad for over 15 years. She credits her parents and close friends as inspirations, motivating and encouraging her evolution, growth, and continued journey as an artist.   Ever the scholar, Books has always been studious and hungry to learn whatever she can, which led to her embrace of the nickname “Books.” She adopted the title of the SoulScholar later, as early collaborators felt her passion and energy and hunger to constantly better herself musically. Before diving completely into her artistry, Books formerly blessed stages as Brandi Nicole and regularly lent her voice as a guest feature with ensembles and choirs that opened for musical acts like Con Funk Shun, CeCe Winans, Kelly Clarkson, and Pentatonix.   In the early 2000s, her voice was the melodic backbone for the Regal Records camp, which included collaborations with Yung Nawlege, Big Flex, and Daniel Hayes. Books is a classically trained musician and dancer. She was a regular feature for Jazz celebrations in middle Tennessee. The original BB King’s and the Funnybone comedy club on Historic Beale street were home to her in the mid 2000s. Books’ voice has taken her as far as Germany, as a featured soloist at the SACCRA International Music Festival.   In the few years leading up to her full-time artistry as Books, the SoulScholar, she was an original member of the “Women of Rock and Soul” trio that successfully toured across the Midwest. Once she fully embraced the power in her voice and distinctive style, she began her journey full time and started work on her first projects as Books, the SoulScholar. Books then joined Planet Boom Bap on their debut album “Parallel Universe” as musician, songwriter, and lead vocalist.   In 2016, Books, the SoulScholar decided that the world needed her original music and has since been focused on building her audience as a solo artist. Books has performed for packed audiences at highly anticipated events like the Women:317 series, The Underground, and The Green House Affect. Her music, including 2017’s “Charm Bracelet,” is on regular rotation across radio outlets like the IndiePennedIt Radio Show, Nuu Beat Radio, Brother, Brother Beer Cast, and the Subjective Comedy Podcast. An “old soul,” but a child of the 90s, she continues to mix in her love of jazz, hip-hop, singer-songwriter, and R&B. Her debut EP, “Songs in the Key of June” hits all major music outlets October 2018 and her full-length project, “the SoulScholar” will debut early 2019. Her singles, including “Charm Bracelet” are streaming across all music platforms.

  • Theoni
    Theoni
    Visual Arts: Textiles
Theoni is my exploration of sewing as a form of expression. I learned how to sew as a child from my mother by making clothing for my dolls. For years I sewed out of practicality, mending garments and making halloween costumes. It wasn’t until more recently that I began to treat a needle and thread as pen and paper, working towards translating flat images through textiles. I currently find my inspiration in experiences of struggle and redemption. I often use photos and real life experiences to create patterns I turn into textile pieces.

Visual Arts: Constructions/Collage, Illustration, Mixed Media, Murals, Painting, Printmaking, Works on paper; Digital Illustration
Hi, I’m BA Thomas. I currently work out of my home in downtown Indianapolis, IN. I graduated in 2015 from a small liberal arts school called Covenant College in Chattanooga, Tennessee and shortly after, I began an internship at the arts-focused Harrison Center here in Indy. I’ve worked a few part-time jobs over the last 6 years, but have continuously kept my art practice as the main focus of my career, periodically holding studios at the Harrison Center and 201 Studios through November of 2020. Collage and digital illustration are my mediums of choice, though I occasionally work with oils, gouache, and printmaking to keep my practice fresh. I’ve participated in various group shows throughout the Indianapolis art scene since 2015, completed two murals, two public works, and exhibited solo at least once a year since 2017. I continue my practice with the immense support of my husband, Grant, and my faithful patrons.
