  • David Alan Anderson
    David Alan Anderson
    Performing Arts: Theatre
David’s renewal process was an opportunity to step away from his busy professional career to see a variety of theatre. Unrestrained by the pressure of preparing for his performances, David was able to focus on the work of other professional actors and evaluate his own abilities. A busy year lies ahead of David as he will prepare to appear as Kent in King Lear and Walter Lee in A Raisin in the Sun. Amidst his schedule, David will be looking for more opportunities to attend plays and continue his renewal process.

    Visual Arts: Painting
My work is about connection to and conflict between these inner and outer experience. In my work exploring interiors, I layer, destroy, repeat and recombine imagery in an intuitive process.  Rather than attempting to paint the world faithfully as I see it, these works are focused on the inner, imagined places of memory or imagination that give depth and meaning to our experience of the world.

    Nathasa Rae Anderson
Artist of Color; Black/African American; Native American/Indigenous; Visual Arts: Illustration, Painting, Works on paper
Hello! I’m Nathasa Rae (pronounced Natasha). I am a hand-drawn neo pop realism ink illustrator and watercolorist. I create mighty fierce warrior women who embrace their inner strength and beauty. These warrior queens are created to empower others to embody their own power and stunning grace. For the little warriors and animal lovers, I create eye-catching animal artwork that makes a beautiful addition to any home. When I decided to pursue as passion and a career, My business started during the journey of self love and acceptance. During a time of combating self doubt and harshness I created warriors to heal. In the midst of all of this it dawned on me that I may not be the only one who needed this message. So in my small apartment I started creating illustrations and watercolors to encourage and inspire others to embrace their true spirit. My mother taught me how to draw and she is still the person I turn to when I have trouble with my art; my brother also is a great resource. My background in formal training includes traditional drawing, graphic design and pre-production animation. Once I turned 18 I began to have mystery medical issues; this lead to years of physical pain and mental struggles. I turned to art and my faith to cope. In fact, it was in the midst of all of this that I sketched my first warrior. A reminder to myself of the strength and grace other women in my family possess in tough times. This is why I believe in the healing power of art. I have used art to navigate through the storms and the sunny days. So I create art to help others bravely sail through their storms as well.

“I have developed a writing practice that has culminated in a piece titled “word picture.” Each picture is an hour long film of a writing session projected via LCD onto a plain surface. Text is generated on the surface as though one were observing a writer from over his shoulder, complete with mistakes, corrections, cut, pastes, and pauses. Some sessions include an electronic clock enhancing the sense of passage of time. The piece places the viewer into the artist’s studio in ‘real time.'”

Nobody Can Tell Me What To Do, Not Even Me! There are neither good nor bad subjects. From the point of view of pure Art, you could almost establish it as an axiom that the subject is irrelevant, style itself being an absolute manner of seeing things. Of all lies, art is the least untrue. Anything becomes interesting if you look at it long enough. Gustave Flaubert My name is Gersh and I’m a self-taught well-published Professional Photographer, Artist, Sci-fi & How-To Professional Photography & How-To Art Writer & Designer. I started drawing and painting when I was 3 and the first time I had my photography work published was when I was a very young child. I have never gone to school to study art, writing, design and/or photography, nor have I had anyone teaching me any of the said disciplines. My art work comprises of a very large collection of black and white and color images which have been created by me in various styles, some of which are surrealism, realism, impressionism and other well-known artistic expressions, in addition to those which have been pioneered by me. What sets me apart from all other artists, is not only a distinct style of my work, but also the fact that I work in almost each and every medium and genre and pioneer my own genres. A large portion of my work are storyboards and illustration for books written by me, nevertheless there are also images which are not a part of any project. They say that every image is worth a thousand words and that every image is a story. My art speaks for itself and I’m not here to describe it, because if my images couldn’t speak for themselves and could not tell stories, they wouldn’t be worth of even looking at them, needless speaking of being published and admired by people. My art is not only a product of my knowledge, imagination, but is also a result of experiences achieved through the exploration of various mediums. From pen and Indian ink, charcoal, markers, oil, graphite, acrylics to less known materials, some of which have been created by me. Despite what has been said, I do not stick with any particular style, but on contrary remain a free explorer of various mediums and styles, which leaves me free not to be told what to do, not even by me, but to remain free in my exploration of the ways and choices to achieve an absolute paramount in my artistic-expression!
