Visual Arts: New Media/Technology, Photography, Visual Arts Instructor, Works on paper
I make photographs using a variety of cameras ranging from traditional DSLRs, to more contemporary Mirror-less varieties. I also enjoy infrared photography, and, probably most significantly, create with the iPhone.
Through my business, Rad Drew Photography, LLC, which I stared in 2010, I make and sell images, teach photography and “iPhoneography,” and lead educational photo workshops to destinations around the world. On these trips, I guide photographers to extraordinary photo opportunities and teach in the field to support students in making the best images possible given the equipment and conditions.
Since 2013 I’ve lead groups to Cuba at least twice each year. Other workshop destinations include the South of France, Tuscany, Cape Cod, Boston’s North Shore, The Palouse, and many destinations in my home state of Indiana and neighboring Ohio.
My imagers have received numerous international awards and have made their way into galleries and juried international competitions showing in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Texas, Vermont, New York, Toronto, Collingwood, Seattle, and Melbourne. I’m the author of the fine art books, In Good Light, Images of the Circle City; a collection of images of Indianapolis, and Rural Indiana, A Beauty all its Own, and am a contributor to today’s most comprehensive volume of iPhone instruction, The Art of iPhone Photography: Creating Great Photos and Art on Your iPhone.
