Visual Arts: Crafts, Functional and/or Decorative, Painting, Sculpture; Furniture
I am driven by a passion for problem solving and finding creative solutions. I studied fine art at Ivy Tech and completed both the Sculpture and Furniture Design programs at Herron School of Art and Design. I work primarily in wood and steel to create unique and imaginative pieces of art and furniture.
Visual Arts: Crafts, Sculpture, Textiles
I am interested in exploring:
Unexpected works in an unexpected material. Objects transformed by material and materials transformed by objects. Surface, texture, form of wool fiber sculpting and how they transform meaning.
Visual Arts: Crafts, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Works on paper
As a photographer and artist, I get great satisfaction in each one of my projects. Living in the heart of Indianapolis, I have the best of both worlds — city life and wildlife — to work with. I thank God that He has given me the ability to create such beauty in so many ways.
Literary Arts; Performing Arts: Music, Spoken Word, Storytelling
I’m a freelance writer and editor with a deep affinity for essay writing and poetry. I have written for local publications like NUVO and the now-defunct Sky Blue Window, as well as blogs for Vidit Indy’s site. My work has also appeared in HuffPo, the website for The Body Is Not An Apology, and brave Voices.
My work is in flux. I have long put black text on white paper and considered that the end of the piece’s creativity. After setting some writing to music on Shades, the CD I released with my father in 2015, I have become very interested in pairing music and dance with my work.
I lost myself for a very long time. I am ready to be back at home in my body, comforted by my words.
Visual Arts: Crafts, Functional and/or Decorative, Visual Arts Instructor
Making things has become more of a necessity than a simple pleasure. When I go for long periods of time without making, I feel a sense of disconnection with something that keeps me grounded and in a place where I can be the best person I can be to my family, my friends and myself. It just makes everything better. The objects that I make are reflections of things that I encounter in daily life. Patterns, textures, forms and even music that I am attracted to seem to appear in and inform my work. Using narrative and telling stories with the things that I make is becoming more and more important to me. The narrative side of my work is a never ending world of things waiting to be made. The stories of our lives are what connect us all. My exploration and the adventure of finding new and interesting techniques to deliver the work keep it exciting and a challenge to create satisfying work. The wood and the lathe are just the vehicles that I use to make the things that I make.

I love reminders to slow down, to stay positive, and to focus on the good in life. We all rush through life and forget to be present in the little moments that matter, that is why I make wood signs, custom quotes and what not.
Multi Arts; Visual Arts: Crafts, Functional and/or Decorative, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Sculpture
My life consists of autodidactic learning using books, online tutorials and workshops, driven by the ever-present compulsion to create.
After college (2012) I moved from my parent’s house in New York to Indiana– where I started learning metalsmithing, lapidary and precious metal clay through workshops, books and tutorials online. I am currently focusing on sculptural jewelry and objects using a mixed media approach.

I primarily work in ceramics and am a ceramics instructor in Indianapolis. I do however have a pretty diverse art background from mural work, drawing, painting, and sculpture. My current body of work is rooted in more of a retro futuristic feel. My goal with most pieces is to fool the viewer making them question the media being used. I try to stretch the limits of ceramics with each piece.

I am an Indy-born, corn-fed, Indy-raised artist through and through! I have studied art at both Purdue and Duke Universities under professional artists that have produced exhibitions for the Indy Airport, National Geographic, and other large-scale audiences. For the last 7 years, I’ve done mural work for several Indy communities including Noblesville, Fishers, Vincennes, and Cumberland. In my time spent living in Boston and Los Angeles over the last 5 years, I also developed skills in exotic face and body painting, pottery, and stained glass, adding a unique skillset and aesthetic style to my teacher abilities and artwork.
In 2018, I formed Hue Murals LLC (fully licensed by the state of Indiana). I offer classes and studio time, work on large scale mural projects, travel to festivals and cultural events to share face and body painting, project manage for local art partners, and more.
