  • Kyle Krauskopf
    Kyle Krauskopf
Visual Arts: Illustration, Media and Visual Communications, Mixed Media, Murals, Painting, Performance Art, Photography, Sculpture, Works on paper; Woodworking
Lightning wielding, mixed media artist Kyle Krauskopf creates like other people breathe. He has spent most of his life in the pursuit of artistic endeavor.  Originally from a small town in Indiana this vagabond creative has taken his drive many places; most notably Seattle WA for the past 5 years as well as several European countries when he backpacked through them in 2017.  He recently retuned to his home state to construct a “base of operations” for the newly developed goal of displaying in as many places throughout the world as possible.  Equipped with a sense of wonder and knack for creativity since birth, Krauskopf has always been drawing and creating.  He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ball State University, where he learned what it was like to be around other creatives and was instilled with a drive to contribute something “new” to the world of art.  Never one to shy away from a challenge, Krauskopf has gotten into the habit of self-imposed, year long artistic goals.  The most notable of which was in 2015 when he decided to design and craft a new wooden animal each day of the year with his trusty scroll saw.  365 Days of Wood made the artist realize he places very little before commitment to his craft; that with dedication, persistence, and lots of hard work he could create impressive and wondrous works.  His work was recently featured in the national lifestyle magazine Vie, in tandem with an interview by editor Jordan Staggs. The work featured is of his Visual Vomit series. These pieces can best be described as heavily emotive pictorial menageries.  Each piece strives to marry realistic depiction of people, places, and things, with less detailed, but powerfully colored objects.  These pieces typically “radiate” from a centrally located theme or idea.  Repetition, color, size, detail, and shape all go into the process of achieving a visual balance.  Krauskopf also conceived of the Virago Artist Collective, an international artist collaboration striving to highlight powerful and influential women throughout history. The team consists of 13 artists and features a new personality and artist every month for the year of 2018, after which the whole body of work is to be shipped to each participants’ city for a showing of the collection. When Krauskopf isn’t having delusions of grandeur or conceiving of his next unrealistic challenge he can be found seeking out new and interesting conversation or enjoying a glass of gin.

My creative art style is very unique, I integrate visuals from past artist experts in impressionism, representational, faces, landscapes, nature/outdoors visuals with added twists of vibrant colors. Painting from the heart is always involved in the visuals I create. The majority of what I put on canvas has mixed media, texture, full of life and color, allowing an exciting viewing experience for all audiences. I have a strong work ethic and still value organization, uniform, consistency, and being prompt as well as prepared. Following the values of running a corporation allows me to thrive effectivity in my arts continuously creating beautiful visuals of free will, a smile to go along with painting is what I do best.
  • Linda Lauter
    Linda Lauter
Visual Arts: Crafts, Graphic Arts, Illustration, Painting, Textiles, Works on paper
I’ve always loved art and crafts and doodled on my algebra notes. I started seriously working on portraits while at college, although I didn’t pursue an art career. Despite this, I managed to get noticed in many of the places I worked and was commissioned to do portraits, posters, flyers, brochures, caricatures, etc. during my work day. I wrote and illustrated training manuals for one organization and sold commissioned portraits in my free time. I took a hiatus from art while raising my 3 girls. Now I use my daughters as models for a variety of pictures. In the past 3 years, having more time to spend on art, I designed a website, opened an art studio at Lafayette Renaissance Academy and participated in a variety of juried shows and exhibitions, doing demonstrations and assisting local art organizations with creating brochures and websites. I work with pencil, pastel, charcoal, colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic and oil. I tend to mix mediums, using pastels and colored pencil together or watercolor and pastel. I’ve created portraits with subjects in live sittings and from photographs. I enjoy drawing portraits and also enjoy creating ‘fantasy’ pictures of mermaids, angels and elves. I also enjoy re-creating the many places I’ve visited in the US, Canada and Europe. Currently my work can be viewed online at llauter.com. I have had artwork at the Art Museum of Lafayette and the Mental Health Association. Shows include an exhibition at the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, Crawfordsville Art Fair & the Round the Fountain Art Festival. In 2010, I was hired to complete a series of paintings for an office waiting room- the largest being 36′ x 48′ and upon completion of this, I went on to paint murals in adjacent space. In 2012, I opened a shop in downtown Lafayette called Main Street Artisans and featuring artisan crafts and fine art. In 2014, I moved back to Indy and adopted a puppy. I currently work on portraiture and formulating natural home and bath products.

  • Dara G. Lewis
    Dara G. Lewis
Performing Arts: Dance; Visual Arts: Graphic Arts, Illustration, Printmaking, Visual Arts Instructor; Drawing
Dara G. Lewis has always bee a visual learner. Growing up it was quickly understood that she needed greater visual reference than most to excel. But as she grew up if there was no visual reference provided she made her own which also started to help those around her understand concepts given. Growing up she had multiple artistic interests including ballet, visual art and horseback riding. Ballet and horses too precedent since being homeschooled prevented finding any good art teacher. She excelled in both and moved onto becoming a horse trainer in Dressage and other training disciplines. Still dancing she remained a ballerina and choreographer into her early twenties. Listening to her parents’ desires for her to gain a non-artistic education in hopes for a more “lucrative” career at age 19 she attended nursing school at the local community college in Sanborn, NY. She excelled within this field as well, although still sketching the human body during A&P classes to satisfy her artistic itch. One year into the two year RN program there was a problem. The college had ignorantly left open the formaldehyde vat the dissected cats were being stored during A&P classes. Dara’s station was right next to the vat and caused severe brain damage. Needing to drop out of college and plagued by seizures she spent the next 8 months in and out of doctors offices and hospitals waiting for an answer. The only thing she had was her art so she started drawing….a lot. After finding a medicine that worked things returned to a relative normal; but left side brain damage remained. She found certain things like coordination, language, memory and math very difficult. Professional possibilities narrowed greatly for her. She decided to cut the nonsense and go for what she originally wanted to go for…Visual Art. Showing a few times before finally building the courage and ability to drive she signed up for classes at the University of Buffalo, NY at the age of 22. Attending art classes gave her hope back. She graduated Magna cum Laude within three years and was asked to return for the Noncommittal show at the beginning of 2013. She moved to Indianapolis that year after a year long of Skype dating her soon to be husband. They met at the yearly Messiah Conference for Messianic Jews and Believers and fell in love quickly. After a second terror bout of seizures she married Nick Lewis later that year. Even more damaged she spent the next year on sabbatical from everything trying to recover; in 2015 she started making art again. Now a year later she is working on a new body of work with a specific range of themes.

  • Ann D. Luther
    Ann D. Luther
Visual Arts: Functional and/or Decorative, Textiles
Art quilts are my passion.  They combine color, texture and design together.  My designs are original or reworked traditional.  I love color and my work clearly shows that.  In addition, I love adding a layer of texture, such as three-dimensional pieces.  Most of the time, I start the process with a design in my head which I put down on paper.  I then pull fabrics and start cutting and sewing.  Lots of times my draft is not even close to what I actually made but it is still part of the process.  Sometimes I see a fabric and it serves as the jumping off point for the piece of art.   I am a Professional Engineer and many of the tools that I learned how to use are ones that I use on a regular basis.  These include French curves, a compass and graph paper. The challenge becomes how to translate the design to fabric.  Fortunately I am not hindered by the fear of mistakes.  It is all part of the process.  Sometimes those mistakes become the perfect feature of a piece.

  • Laura Marenco
    Laura Marenco
Artist of Color; Hispanic/Latino/a/x; Multiracial; Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Painting
Hello, my name is Laura Marenco. I was born in El Salvador and moved the United States in my mid 20s. I began my painting career using oils under the guidance of Salvadorian Painter Armando Solis. After moving to the US, I was primarily focused on completing my college education. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Purdue then moved to Indianapolis to pursue a job in social services. Painting took a back seat in my life in Indianapolis. I had started a new career, I met my husband, and then had a son, Diego, who is now 13 years old. A year after giving birth, I decided to start a business in the fitness industry.  I had very little time to do anything besides family activities in addition to challenges of trying to break into a very competitive market. Now, 20 years later, after life has settled down some, I was in the process of remodeling my home and was searching for new art work. That search inspired me to ask the question, “why not paint my own???” So, here we are a few months later and I find myself in love again with art. I have chosen acrylics as my medium this time around and love the results. I had forgotten how important painting really is in my life and how much I enjoy it.  I promise not to quit ever again!

  • Anastasia Maroney
    Anastasia Maroney
    Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Painting
Anastasia Maroney is a professional artist working within a wide variety of media.  She holds a B.A. in Fine Art from Indiana University and a M.S. in Art Education from the University of Tennessee.  She is also a fully credentialed Art teacher in the state of Indiana.  Anastasia is inspired by the intricacies of life around her – from the simple forms that present themselves every day, like the fruit her children eat for snack, to the flowers growing outside her studio windows and on to more complex topics such as the state of American culture, religion, relationships, and personal struggles.  There are so many opportunities to recognize beauty in God’s creation, whether it be through music, movement, or the visual cues that surround us everywhere. After growing up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Anastasia attended art school at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne.  Soon thereafter, she moved south to attend graduate school at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  A marriage and graduation led her to California, Georgia, Nevada, and then back to Indiana, all in a period of seven years.  During those years, Anastasia taught high school and middle school art, all while trying to find time to create work on her own.  After being blessed with her first two babies, she stopped teaching professionally to serve in a volunteer capacity while raising her children.  Seven years later, she and her husband were blessed with two more children, and she continued to find small pockets of time to create art.  After another professional year in the classroom, she decided to venture out as a professional artist full-time.  Since then, Anastasia has been working to create a professional body of work, and has been instructing students in her home studio while exploring venues for exhibiting and selling her work.

In 2017,  I jumped into the world of abstract painting.  It is a liberating space of action, color, and layers.  Each layer hides and reveals something that came before it…just like life.  I consider myself to be an Emotional Archaeologist as I dig through the previous day’s work, scratching, eliminating, brushing, sifting, mentally labeling, and adding more paint.  I am searching for primitive forces that I have overlooked in my physical life. Literary Arts; Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Painting
I never claimed to be an artist nor enthusiast, but have always admired and respected the various displays of art.   I was introduced to my artistic ability in high school when I had to pick an ‘elective’ to satisfy a mandatory class schedule.  Once I captured the attention of my art teacher, I knew that I was on to something. I was very much inspired by the events of 2008 when we elected our first African American president, so I commissioned myself to draw a piece which I titled, ‘Dream, Believe & Achieve’.  This pencil drawing is a likeness of Dr. King(Dream), Obama (Believe – Yes we can!) and Mandela (Achieve – after being imprisoned for over 27 years, when released, he became the first black president of South Africa). This strong betrayal of strength adorn the walls of many friends and family, and is what I call my “official” coming out piece. In 2008 I was commissioned, by an incredible local artist, to write about the two amazing sculptures that were to be part of the Meet the Artists XX – “Homecoming” event.  One piece, entitled, “Pick Me – The Emancipation of Check-X” tells the story of  how mega churches promise a means to the promised land at the expense of it’s followers.  The other described the impact of Jazz on society during a time when music and inclusion were misaligned. This was my first “unofficial” launch into the art event world. In 2012, I participated in my first, official, ‘coming out’ art exhibition(prior to this, I characterized myself as a closet artist, doing, primarily, commissioned based work). The Meet the Artists XXIV – “SuperBowl Extravaganza” is where I had an incredible opportunity to display some of my work, network with other artists and art enthusiasts, speak about my pieces, and gain recognition as an artist. Since then, I’ve participated in various local Art Exhibitions, and displayed my work at a local art gallery.  Currently, my art can be seen at a local contemporary furniture store, and on my website: DeeMillerInspired.com. Often called a wordsmith, I believe that the ingredients for a good story or poem can come from many venues….experiences, imagination and observations… just to name a few.  What makes a story/poem come to life is the writer’s execution. My Self-Published books can be found on my website and via Amazon. Come, let me inspire you through my Contemporary arts and Literal entertainment I look forward to meeting you. Come, let me inspire you through my innovation arts and entertainment

Freelance artist based in Indianapolis, IN. I’ve been a perfectionist since birth and I’ll be a maker until I die. Graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelors in Fine Art. I’m a trained illustrator, painter, muralist, screen-printer, sculptor, woodworker, and carpenter. I’m passionate about creating works of art for people and businesses alike. From an early age I developed an obsession for quality. As a child I would throw away little scribbles I had made if they were not “cool” enough, and my fourth grade teacher nicknamed me “Mr. Meticulous,” as I always perfectly spaced my math equations on my paper so they were clean and easy to read. Since I have become an adult, nothing has changed because when I create my work, I expect nothing short of accuracy and perfection.
