“His work ranges from paintings to decorative guitars and hand grenades to a sculpture reading “Blow me” with Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE lettering as a component part, to the First Church of cannabis logo. He’s an artist who proves that Hoosier art can both be LOVEly and outrageous. “ – Nuvo

Life’s Principles Are A Universal Language
This started as a concept to instill confidence and a sense of self worth in my daughters. The idea grew as I became aware of the bond that my daughters share with females and all peoples of this world. Power, Passion, Personality, Promise, Praise, Perseverance, Progress, Pride, Prestige, no matter the language, no matter the background these 9 traits are inherent in us all.
To that end I sought people who spoke different languages, to see if they had words that mirrored the English equivalent of the positive words. Learning the different translations of the words was an adventure in and of itself. The first languages I explored were Spanish and Urdu. I looked up the international Disability symbols Latin and Portuguese on the computer. I contacted a family friend in Louisiana and 2 universities to get the Creole translations. For Cherokee, I explored the Cherokee Nation website and was put in contact with their language department. Romanian, Bosnian and Igbo come from co-workers and church members, each speaking their native tongue. I went to the Japanese cultural center to receive the Japanese translations.
I utilized the services of the Language Training Center of Indiana, Indy Translations, LUNA Language Services.
I owe a big debt of gratitude for the all the language assistance that I received in putting this project together.
Some languages translate loosely but the goal was to come as close to the actual definitions of the 9 words and phrases. The words and their definitions are color coded for effect and to spark imaginations, self reflection and conversation.
Principles of Life features a children’s book Girls…are all the above.

Visual Arts: Graphic Arts, Painting, Visual Arts Instructor
Growing up I created art for the sheer joy it gave me to place pencil on paper or paint on canvas, choosing to become an art teacher so that I could share my love for the visual arts with others. As my life evolved and I began to face various challenges and obstacles though, art became so much more to me. Art became my outlet, my therapy, my way to turn pain into beauty and to find calm and rest amidst life’s storms.
The media I primarily work with is oil paint on canvas though I also work with acrylics and charcoal as well. Media is dictated by emotion, personal taste, and desired outcome with each project. As my work is viewed I hope the audience takes time to mediate on the colors and shapes allowing the images to connect with them. Each piece was made as a direct response to positive and negative experiences form my own life and I hope the viewer is able to find reflections from their own life in them as well. Art is my life and life is my art and I hope that my work will have a positive and lasting impression on my viewers.

Based out of 201 Studios in Indianapolis, Indiana, Thomas is an independent artist dedicated to creating out of her convictions. Her work hinges on weaving together organic language, societal tensions, and human suffering into cerebral works that confront her viewer with strenuous realities. Using multiple mediums to engage her viewer, she focuses on asking hard questions through the implementation of visual languages like texture and color, of symbolic imagery relying upon her viewer’s mental archive, and of the literal cutting and pasting of difficult texts onto arrangements of various ephemera. Creating these gritty confrontations is how she processes her own womanhood, her humanity, and the world around her. The world is full of suffering, and she aims to amplify that in an effort to encourage awareness, conviction, and change.

I have spent most of my life traveling and have come to enjoy learning about different cultures and ways of life. In my art I try to capture buildings and landmarks of some of my favorite places in an attempt to keep those memories alive. I also try to depict place I dream of visiting to either inspire me to plan a trip or simply appreciate from a distance a place I may never see. Not everyone has the time or funds to travel so through my art I want to show the beautiful variety of architecture around world.

It all began with a graffiti artist with an aggressive style and a passion for creating art. He broadened his skills with the use of different medias, including the airbrush. At that point he found a market for artwork on vehicles and motorcycles, so it only seemed right for him to try a different canvas. After employment at a small bodyshop in 2003, he began to learn how to prep parts, do bodywork, and eventually, lay down some sick paint. This all led up to the creation of WickedKolor.com, which has now grown to be a standout business.
With several awards and magazine appearances, WickedKolor is constantly creating some awesome pieces of art. We offer you a chance to be unique and create something that is yours. Stand Out. Get Wicked.

I believe that art, creativity and motivation are all about feelings and emotions. I am an artist that strives in the everyday to keep things simple and spread positivity. I look for the peace and zen in the hustle and bustle, excitement and wonders of life and nature around us. I draw, paint, photograph, motivate, write, design and mix together artistic elements and media of all types to evoke fine art, literary and graphic design works that convey what I feel and visualize. Positive, creative energy is infectious…Other artists inspire me; I hope that I inspire other artists too! Inspirational ‘props’ to Russian street artist Pavel Puhov for his work entitled, Eyeglasses. LOVE IT!
