Born in Miami, Aaron Law is a Professor of Design Emeritus at the Herron School of Art and Design / IUPUI. He earned his B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Florida and his M.F.A., also in Graphic Design, from Indiana University. He joined the Herron faculty in 1971 and served as Chair of the Foundation Studies Program from 1973 to 1979 and Chair of the Visual Communication Department from 1980 to 1996.

My creative work is primarily color digital photography and the creative manipulation of photographic images using computer software. My creative tools include the digital camera, Macintosh computer, digital scanner, and high-resolution color inkjet printers. The subject of my digital imagery work varies from creating richly textured panoramic landscapes to multiple image triptychs that appeal to me with their humor, irony or iconic qualities. The creative ideation process evolved by serendipitous inspiration, allowing one the freedom to explore and to use artistic intuition. The triptychs’ diverse images combine to communicate messages concerning man’s impact on nature and consumerism, while inviting viewers’ participation with their own personal thoughts and interpretations.
