I have always loved working with my hands. A few years ago I started knitting and became intrigued with silk painting and nuno felting. The colors, textures and fun of creating wearable art has been a great experience for me. The bright colors of the dye and the subdued, soft wool make for beautiful contrast that lends to unique work.

The techniques that I use to create my fiber art range from hand painting , stamping, using resists for shibori, discharge, nuno felting and felting. A bit about nuno felting…silk is first hand dyed, then thin layers of wool, silk or bamboo roving are applied. With the use of soap, water and elbow grease, the fibers join together creating one of a kind pieces of fabric.
