Brittany Ferguson is an Indiana based artist working with printmaking, ceramic, painting, and mural work. Ferguson is a senior at the Herron School of Art & Design recieving her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in both printmaking and ceramics. She plans to attend graduate school to recieve her Master’s degree in Art Therapy to enable her to work with war veterans using art as a creative expression to deal with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

My work tends to reflect personal feelings about myself as an artist and as a woman. My work varies across many different concepts. I tend to get bored with one thing after a while, and so I move on to the next thing in my head. I have so many ideas that I want to get out. BUT, after doing a lot of soul searching, I have found that based on my decision to become an art therapist, I have developed work that resembles myself and my personal feelings as though I was a patient of an art therapist. Whatever bothered me, I drew it. Whatever made me happy, I would paint it. My work is mainly made up of figures; characters that I developed over a period of time that were reflective of what I thought I wanted to look like, what I wanted to be, and how I wanted to act like in the real world. These characters do all the talking for me. I also create animal figures, and abstract shapes in clay. Then there’s the military figures and aviation drawings. I also paint murals in both community and company settings.
