“My canvas work is a combination of Realism and Impressionism. I grew up on the near eastside. My first artistic impression was from a neighborhood artist, Joseph Holiday who created his interpretation of Africans, their cultures and native environment. I am trying to take my painting a step further.”

About My Work:

My artwork reflects, my life experience. I discovered a love for art as a child and was encouraged by family members to continue advancing my artistic skills.  I was also inspired by a local Indjianapolis artist, Joseph Holiday, an African American painter who resided in Indianapolis.

My work is primarily expressed in rich earth and jewel tones and includes realist, surrealist and portraiture genres and distinct mixed-media sculptures as well. Mywork is reflective of the world, family, African American life and the environment in which I live. I paint in oil, clay and water colors.

My work has been showcased at several Indianapolis Marion County Public Libraries “IMCPL Annual Meet the Artist Gala”Exhibitions, “black Pearl” at the Garfield Park Arts Center, Multi art exhibitions presentation in the Juried annual flava fresh exhibitions, held at the Indianapolis Arts Garden, Clowes Memorial Hall, and Mayor’s Art Exhibit, National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center.
