My art explores the intersection of natural beauty and fantastic elements. This often includes whimsical landscapes, surreal portraiture, and playful characters.
The process in which I create my illustrations involves digital collage methods. I paint textures traditionally using materials such as acrylic paint and oil pastels; then I scan them, upload them to Photoshop, and “cut out” pieces of the textures in order to create a drawing. I further adjust the brightness, hue, and saturation of each piece of the collage to add depth and realism to the drawing. The outcome is often energetic and visually unique.
