Rutkowski is a composer of both contemporary classical music and jazz. Director of Composition Studies at the University of Indianapolis as well as the Director of the U of I Contemporary Music Ensemble, Rutkowski’s music has been performed in venues throughout the nation including New York City, Philadelphia, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and the Hilbert Circle Theater. In addition, his work has been performed on the campuses of the University of Illinois, University of Louisville,
