Artist Style: Visual: Abstract, Collage, Contemporary, Land/Cityscape, Nature/Wildlife
Artist Medium: Visual Arts: Acrylic, Collage, Mixed Media
Hawkins’ art practice is how she chases after the sense of calm she feels while being in nature. Living in a city, Hawkins does not get as many opportunities to wander the woods or aimlessly float on a lake as she did growing up. Getting lost in the creation of an artwork is the closest to that joyful feeling as she can manufacture. Hawkins makes art to find her center, flush out the toxins of the day, and to learn to be in the present moment rather than off worrying about what is yet to come.
