Between commissioned portraits I execute large scale figurative oil paintings. With strict confines for achieving a portrait likeness, my approach to narrative figure paintings demands an opposite process. I paint for paint’s sake and allow imagery to present itself unplanned within my compositions. As of late I have added mixed media to my work. I use everything from decorative papers and video installations within the canvas.
