My work presents a visual statement of aspects of the world as I see it.
Diane Lyon paints exclusively in oil in an impressionistic style. Her subject matter includes figurative, landscape, still life, and portraiture. “I am inspired by what I see, interesting shapes, the play of light and shadows, an evocative expression.”
Lyon’s life has taken her to many places in the world. Her early years were spent in California, with a few years in Munich, the Italian seacoast, Bangkok, and Toronto. She has made Indianapolis her home for the past twenty five years. With a master’s degree in dramatic arts, she has found paint to be a wonderful medium to express the drama she sees throughout the world. She continues to travel extensively, painting on location as well as in her studio in Indianapolis.
