“Nature provides boundless inspiration for my art. Trees, especially, are a totem of mine. I paint abstractions of trees in vivid acrylics. My main goal is to capture the play of light…to evoke a mood that reflects what I saw in a snippet of time, a vision that is gone in a blink. My pencil drawings are realistic representations of what I observe…I’ve always had a knack and reverence for realism, and frankly, not everyone can do it! It makes me proud to be able to draw exactly what I see
Drawing is the biggest constant in the work of Heckler. The artist likes to see just how much detail she can squeeze in.
