Eric Rowles

As a fine art major at Heron School of Art with a painting focus, my goal is to approach every piece produced with excitement and passion. Excitement to see an idea blossom from a mental image to paint on the canvas and a passion in the pieces subject matter. When contracting a piece, my clients and I work hand in hand to mutually understand the passion and purpose that inspires the works creation.

Born in 1980 as the only child to David and Vivian in Portland, IN, my interest in art was noticed and encouraged from an early age. It was in college where my passion for painting truly took flight. I fell in love with expressionistic impressionist artists such as LeRoy Neiman who perfected the ability to create the effect of movement by utilizing fast moving strokes on the canvas. As I  continue to master my own approach to this vibrant and colorful style, my signature stroke has become that of the pallet knife and the hard edges that come with it.

In choosing a subject matter, I enjoy the idea of exploring iconic venues or images and presenting them in a new and colorful light. My goal for future projects is to continue to explore new subjects, expand on those subjects I have focused on before and create memorable pieces that bring those around them joy.
