About My Work:

My paintings are realistic portraits which represent professionals (physicians, judges, corporate figures, university presidents, deans, faculty) as well as commissioned portraits of adults and children for private collections.  I have also had experience painting animals.  I work mostly in oil on quality linen canvas, but also work in pastel on paper for less formal portraits.  While I prefer to meet with and paint clients directly, I also work from photographs.  I try to convey accuracy of likeness as well as rich color and expressive brush strokes to bring out the personality of each subject.  I also can add significant background elements relating to the client, such as personal collections, awards, interiors and outdoor settings.
