My paintings and drawings are Realism and Hyperrealism. My goal, always, is to create the illusion of a reality that’s just a bit sharper, brighter and more real than reality. I start with a careful composition, from which I prepare a detailed graphite drawing before ever touching brush or pen to paper. Altthough I most often work in watercolor, I also work pen and ink, and acrylic.
My primary style is Hyperrealism. My subject matter includes Still Life, Figurative, Landscape and Wildlife, but my main focus is Still Life.
I often paint fruit, toys and other subjects at many times their actual size. I paint each item with passion, telling its story as accurately as I can.
My paintings are known for intense, joyful colors; my drawings for eye-catching detail. And all media for a strong sense of depth and realism.
