“My paintings move from traditional to modern, from figuartive and landscape to surreal and abstract. Content shifts into color study and one renews the other. Structure and mystery tend to combine. With the surreal the imagination shifts to the unknown with gourd as metaphor and object as symbol. The psychological is content and the imagination becomes catalyst. With portraits, nothing in art has given me greater pleasure than the animal kingdom. To pursue the essential characteristics in a portrait or to put pen to paper to capture the mystery of the instinctual world is a challenge. The connection between man and animal never ceases to amaze, to reward, and to deepen the process for me. I am greatful for each experience”.
