I am a visual artist, printmaker and art educator living in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am also a feminist who finds unfading inspiration in the complexity, beauty and danger of the natural world.
Artist Style: Visual: Conceptual, Contemporary, Dream Imagery/Ethereal, Figurative, Illustrative, Portraiture, Realism, Representational, Social Commentary, Surrealistic
Artist Medium: Visual Arts: Acrylic, Collage, Drawing Media, Mixed Media; Paper-Mache
At the core of each piece is a deep love and dedication to my drawing practice. Creatively, my focus shifts between endowing papier-mâché creatures with mythic proportions, creating allegorical and often humorous prints and rendering dark, seductive waterscapes in charcoal and pastel.
I received a BFA in studio art from Tulane University in New Orleans and an MFA in studio art from the University of Texas at Austin. I concentrated on printmaking during both degree programs and have also studied internationally at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, England and at the Pont-Aven School of Art in France.
I am currently an adjunct instructor at Ball State University and a Teaching Artist at the Indianapolis Art Center.
