Katherine Fehn

Throughout my whole life, art has been my companion. When I was younger, I poured myself into that relationship, but as an adult, it took a backseat other priorities, mainly raising my family. In 2018, I began carving time out for my passion. And now I’m living my dream as a full time artist.

Drawing & painting, it’s always been my chosen form of self expression. For that reason, my work’s focus is mainly on abstract pieces. Most of my art reflects where I am in life. It’s how I work out what I’m experiencing & feeling. Each piece is therapeutic, personal and unique to that time.  As a recovering perfectionist, I love the idea of the imperfection found in manipulating colors by pushing paint around on a canvas.

In contrast, while abstract work is where I find a lot of delight, there are occasions when I also enjoy the control that comes with realism, representing images as they really are. That’s why you will see a range of work from me.

Because of it’s personal nature, my work won’t mean the same to you as it does to me, but I want to strike a chord inside a viewer. When something I’ve painted, a stroke of paint or a color combination, catches the right person’s eye & they connect with it, then things have come full circle, and it’s no longer belongs just to me.
